Pakistan and Afghanistan Unite for Polio Eradication Key Meeting Held in Karachi

Karachi – Under the guidance of Federal Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, an important meeting was held in Karachi focusing on polio eradication. The meeting brought together key stakeholders from Pakistan and Afghanistan to discuss the current polio situation and strategies for its complete elimination.

Participants included Member of National Assembly Iqbal Mehsud, Member of Provincial Assembly Fahim Patni, and Afghan Consul General Syed Abdul Jabbar Takhari. The core agenda revolved around eradicating polio and effectively addressing cases of refusal to vaccinate children.

Consul General Syed Abdul Jabbar Takhari praised the initiatives led by Minister Mustafa Kamal for polio eradication and commended the close collaboration between the two countries, calling it an exemplary model of international partnership in the health sector.

Both nations agreed to strengthen ongoing campaigns encouraging parents to vaccinate their children and to develop a joint strategy to eliminate polio, especially in border regions.
