KARACHI: Senior MQM Pakistan leader and Federal Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, along with other senior party leaders, visited the office of the Pashtun Tribal Movement as part of engagement with different communities over the issue of new administrative units and governance reforms.

Upon their arrival, Pashtun community elders warmly welcomed Syed Mustafa Kamal, senior MQM Pakistan leaders Anis Ahmed Kaimkhani and Furqan Ateeq, Member of the National Assembly Iqbal Mehsud, and other members of the National and Sindh assemblies.

The meeting was part of outreach and dialogue with different communities and stakeholders regarding the proposal for new administrative units, decentralization and reforms in the existing governance structure.

During the interaction, participants exchanged views on governance, public representation and the administrative challenges faced by citizens.

MQM Pakistan has been holding meetings and public outreach activities with different sections of society to present its position on administrative units and discuss how administrative restructuring could affect governance and public service delivery.

The visit to the Pashtun Tribal Movement office also provided an opportunity for political representatives and community elders to discuss issues affecting Karachi’s diverse communities and the role of effective local administration in addressing public concerns.

The engagement forms part of a wider political debate over administrative units, local governance and decentralization in Pakistan.
