Ali Khursheedi Expresses Grief Over Lyari Building Collapse, Blames SBCA
Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly, Ali Khursheedi, has expressed deep concern over the collapse of a residential building in Lyari and sorrow over the loss of precious lives.
In his statement, he held the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) responsible, stating that the institution has become a hub of illegal constructions, often approving unsafe buildings in exchange for bribes. He said the recently collapsed Lyari structure was a result of such negligence.
Khursheedi urged that rescue operations be expedited immediately to recover those trapped under the debris. He warned that building collapses are increasing in frequency due to unchecked illegal constructions and called for strict action against SBCA officials involved in such acts.
He also appealed to the Chief Minister of Sindh to take urgent notice of the incident and ensure all dangerous buildings in Karachi are vacated to safeguard public lives and property.

سندھ اسمبلی میں قائد حزب اختلاف علی خورشیدی نے لیاری میں رہائشی عمارت گرنے کے واقعے پر گہرے دکھ اور افسوس کا اظہار کیا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ سندھ بلڈنگ کنٹرول اتھارٹی (SBCA) جیسا ادارہ غیر قانونی تعمیرات کا گڑھ بن چکا ہے جہاں افسران رشوت لے کر خطرناک عمارتوں کے نقشے پاس کرتے ہیں۔ لیاری میں گرنے والی عمارت بھی ایسی ہی غفلت کا نتیجہ ہے۔
علی خورشیدی نے زور دیا کہ ریسکیو آپریشن میں تیزی لائی جائے اور ملبے میں دبے افراد کو فوری نکالا جائے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ حالیہ دنوں میں عمارت گرنے کے واقعات میں اضافہ ہوا ہے، جس کی بنیادی وجہ سندھ حکومت کی خاموشی ہے۔
انہوں نے وزیراعلیٰ سندھ سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ اس واقعے کا فوری نوٹس لیں اور شہر کی تمام مخدوش عمارتیں خالی کروا کر عوام کی جان و مال کا تحفظ یقینی بنائیں۔
