PM Shehbaz Sharif Reviews Progress on Jinnah Medical Complex with Federal Ministers
Islamabad, August 2025 –
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired an important review meeting regarding the ongoing progress of the Jinnah Medical Complex, a flagship healthcare infrastructure project poised to raise the bar for medical excellence in Pakistan.
Joined by Federal Ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, and Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, the Prime Minister gave clear directives to ensure international standards, transparency, and merit-based execution throughout the development of the facility.
“Jinnah Medical Complex must reflect the future of Pakistan’s healthcare—modern, accessible, transparent, and inclusive,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Healthcare with Unity and Quality
One of the unique and symbolic decisions made during the meeting was to name the blocks of the medical complex after Pakistan’s provinces, promoting national unity and inclusiveness across all regions.
Minister Mustafa Kamal, known for his rapid and transparent governance model, echoed the Prime Minister’s vision, highlighting the need for world-class medical facilities to cater to both urban and rural populations.
The Jinnah Medical Complex is envisioned to become a center of excellence in medical services, education, and research. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and highly trained staff, it aims to significantly elevate the standard of public healthcare in Pakistan.
Strong Inter-Ministerial Coordination
The presence of key federal ministers in the meeting showcased the government's multi-ministerial coordination and commitment to fast-tracking national healthcare infrastructure. All attendees agreed that merit, transparency, and public service delivery should remain non-negotiable values in the project's implementation.
This project also represents the ongoing reform agenda of Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, who continues to push forward modernization, digital governance, and structural reform within Pakistan’s health sector.
A Landmark in Health Infrastructure
As the government accelerates its health-focused agenda, the Jinnah Medical Complex stands as a landmark project with the potential to become one of South Asia’s leading medical institutions.
