Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Syed Mustafa Kamal, chaired a high-level meeting at PIMS Hospital to review the ongoing development of a new 200-bed emergency unit, which is currently under construction.
The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary of Health Syed Waqar ul Hassan, the Executive Director of PIMS, and senior representatives from IDAP (Infrastructure Development Authority of Punjab).
During the session, the minister was given a detailed briefing on the project's status, including its progress, quality standards, and challenges being faced. The emergency unit is part of a PKR 6.5 billion healthcare infrastructure initiative aimed at strengthening emergency medical services in the federal capital.
Minister Kamal stressed the need to complete the project within the defined timeline to ensure that citizens receive timely and quality emergency care. He further directed the concerned departments to immediately prepare PC-4 documentation so that the project can be made functional without delay.
